"Big League" Softball championship

I am watching the Big League softball championship, Michigan is playing the Philipines - and of course they are playing on grass, what are they getting these kids ready for?

Does anyone know what the rules are here? Do they still have the t-ball base running rules ? Or the pitchers innings rules like in the lower league?

Michigan has a 6.2 15 year old pitcher, but Michigan swings at everything, the Philipino pitcher is have a blast throwing a rise ball.

Edited to add: I just heard the announcer say that the kids can steal upon release.

FYI, they play that game on grass because around here we don't have any softball stadiums that fit 4,000+ people, but lots of baseball ones that do. That complex has 6 softball fields but they only have bleachers for a few hundred spectators. The rest of the year they play on dirt.

So they cater to the spectators and punish the athletes. I figured it was Little League.

As contrasted with ASA, which caters to pissant dustbowl towns and punishes the athletes.

Point taken, but ASA punishes athletes and spectators alike.

Now that you bring this up, lets start a poll on where next years, lets say 14U will be. I hate to mention this town, because it could happen - here it is 'Dead Horse, Alaska'.

I found this town some years back - I was flying into and working in Cleveland and heavily depressed, I decided that Cleveland might not be the worst place in the world, so I looked all over the world for somewhere worse, and came up with Dead Horse, Alaska. I felt better because - I was not working in the worst place on earth, only second worst.

How about Blythe or Heber California on the other end? Playing there would be a true test of endurance in the summer. They are also significantly culturally challenged in terms of having anything to do at all. Heber used to have a really cool rock store for those who like to collect desert rocks

actually, Midland was such a success, ASA is going to stay in West Texas and rotate between Abilene, Big Spring, Lamasa, and Odessa. I understand Dime Box and Old Dime Box in SE Central Texas are gathering support as well. Don't forget Cut N' Shoot! Gig'em!

Dont believe either metroplex has any motels, I blinked last time I drove through. I will be back up in a month, I will stop and check at the Dime Box Chamber of Commerce.

That being said, there did seem to be plenty of flat land where teams could pitch a tent and camp out.
