Coach vs. Team name

What's on your mind?

Do you pick a team because of the coaches or team name? :?
I believe in getting into hot water. I think it keeps you clean.

I think the OP meant do you pick a team to go to based on the organization/team name or because of the clout of the head coach
It's better to keep your mouth shut and look like you're stupid......
than to open it and remove all doubt.

Yeah, I am thinking "who picks a team because of the name?" I think you are best to go with a good coach instead of a good name.

You want to hear some Daddyball...The girls voted for "Toxic" and the coaches DD wanted "Tidal Waves" so he called for a re-vote until he got the result that little princess wanted...he still had to stuff the ballot box.

I suspect that the percentage of people who pick teams based upon the organization name/rep would surprise you. It is rarely admitted but often the truth. Sometimes it is the right choice. Sometimes it isn't. MO.

Team Colors:
Pink and Black
Team Name:
Bazooka Bombers

We handed out Bazooka bubble gum after every game, girls loved it!

This was (of course) an 8U rec team. :D

1. Team mates
2. coaches
3. Team name doesn't matter as long as 1 and 2 are top quality and your dd is having fun and being challenged. For example, if you choose Batbusters just for the name, but she doesn't like her team mates, you don't like the parents and the coach yells way too much, than it would be a worthless season.

Just my humble opinion...

Team name/organization holds a lot of weight in the real world. Everyone assumes that these teams have the best coaches, so the top players tryout for these teams. I think that this is more so with the gold teams. Do colleges (with limited time on their hands) shop the big teams (OC BB, CA, Firecrackers, etc...) for talent first and then go to the next level (no pun intended) teams if they don't find what they want? I don't know. Probably. JMHO

The top team names draw the most talent. The team coaches are not pitching coaches(private) not hitting coaches(private) and may not even be fielding coaches(going private). What's left...hit grounders and flies and run situations. You are allowed to throw live BP, condition, base running and teach bunting...the rest is game time coaching, but that is a skill learned over many years of practice.
