1st year 14U team and High School

What's on your mind?

1st year 14U vs. 2nd year 14U players. If you are a 1st year 14U team and pick a second year 14U player you will lose her to high school. Do you rather have all 1st year 14's or you don't care if you lose a good player for a couple of months. You don't see this in any other division 10's 12's 16's or 18 the first 2 don't play high school the other 2 all the kids go dark. So what is your take on this. :?:
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

If she is a good pitcher, you take her. You know she will be getting work at HS. May not be what you would do or as hard, but she is playing and hopefully pitching.

Our team seems to be the lucky one. We have 11 '95's and 2 '94's, but the 94's are both 8th graders. Our '95's are: 8 - 8th graders and 3 - 7th graders. Next year we will be faced, of course, with a different "problem". If the two '94's are with us at that time then we will have to be a 16U for 2009-2010.

(Not out of the question as we are already playing a couple of 16U's this year.)

We faced the same problem last year. My DD and 2 others played high school ball while the others played 14u. My DD pitches and she did get work but unfortunately it was not quality work and she was not in travel form for a couple of weekends. The other 2 are not pitchers and they had more trouble blending in. If we had it to do over again I am not sure we would include high school ball!
