Dodgers and D. Lowe are cruising along into the 6th with a 2-0 lead when Victorino lays down a slap grounder to short, Furcal rushes his throw, it goes wide and runner ends up on 2B.
My immediate thought was "That's was a great softball hit." I was proud to tell all present that in softball "we run that play all the time". No one was very pleased.
Lowe then serves up a 2R HR to Utley that tied the game, then a solo shot Burrell that made the difference.
All set up by some guy I'd never heard of trying to slap his way on base, his speed causing a throwing error, the error 'just maybe' throwing Lowe off enough that he struggles pitching to Utley, next thing you know - game over.
There's always tomorrow. Or as they say in Chicago - next year.
