Stat,
I would say anytime you can get your DD in front of that many coaches it's worth it. Now of course the guy who runs it makes money on it, but I can say, no one works harder at getting your kids exposed and genuinely loves the girls and the game! Kirt and his family who do it all are relentless in what they do for you. We have done this over 4x with them and yeah we swallowed hard when it went up to the price it is, but it's an investment in your child we say.
It is also on the back end of a camp that the coaches come to as well. Even though it's called a camp, think of it as a combine. Especially for a pitcher or catcher and sign up fast for the Kent State camp as the slots go fast. Never been to Boulder, but the QDSN is set up on a football field cut in half with two games going on there at a time. Then there are four batting cages with two teams in each batting through the lineup for the entire timeslot. Pitchers and catchers get the most views in the cages as the coaches are right there at the cages. No parents are allowed back there, so the coaches are comfortable hanging there and viewing. The games are setup to show off runners and catchers arms as well as runners get put on bases every other inning. The batter starts with a 1-1 count as well to keep it moving.
We were missing the business side of it and they got allot out of it from that perspective. Many, many contacts come out of the weekend for possible schools. Remember, the coaches are everywhere watching what DD's do on and off the field, at restaurants and hotels, even if you don't recognize them, they do watch how they interact with Mom, Dad and teamamates.
I do like the QD South better as it's games on fields like it should be, but January in Ohio, there's not much to offer.
Oldest DD had opportunity to play in college and decided she was done playing from a bad knee, after an offer was made to her at a D-3.
Second one is a Senior Catcher, who did it 4 times and looking right now with many contacts from the QDSS, D-2, D-3, NAIA and is trying to see what school will best fit her pre-med class offerings.
Third one was just accepted yesterday and is going through the whole process again for the second time. First was QDSS labor day weekend.
I would say do it and get in front of those coaches if you can swing it, but if coming from out of state, do a part of the camp either offensive or defensive and get more views from them OH YEAH, bring lot's of profiles and videos...
