I don't know about a 'post' or 'thread' in awhile but I have a book called Baseball 'Brain Teasers' with the following on pg 130 :
'Waiving the Rule' -
A Red Sox 2nd baseman of recent years, in an attempt to distract a Twins batter, positioned himself behind the pitcher & waved his hands frantically while jumping up & down.
Was his act a legal one?
Answer : it was, until Eddie Stanky, the Giants 2nd baseman employed the tactic one too many times. Because of complaints of unsportsmanlike conduct , language 4.06 b was inserted in the rule book: No fielder shall take a position in the batter's line of vision, & with deliberate unsportsmanlike intent, act in a manner to distaract the batter. The offender shall be removed from the game & shall leave the playing field.
