Love'em or Hey'em

What's on your mind?

by Empire United » Fri Dec 26, 2008 10:42 pm

This past year I purchased a pair of cleates for my DD. I'll just call them IKEY"S. They lasted about 3 months before the side ripped on them. Since then we have switched to Mizuno's and haven't looked back. Her friend went through 2 Stealth bats the same year. So hears the question. "What sports equipment brands (Bats, Gloves, Batting gloves, Instructional Videos) do you prefer and which ones have let you down"

Cleats - Addidas now, they're cheap, last as long as any others and are lighter than many. DD tried Nike (2nd best of all others tried), Ringors (WAAY too heavy, like watching her run in mud). Tanel (again, too heavy), Mizuno (lightweight but something was digging into her toes and gave her blisters).

Gloves - Nokona Catchers mitt by far the best for DD. Had a mizuno and it was good but not enough padding. Demarini Voodoo for fielding glove, on 2nd one now and she loves them. No idea what the other was, too long ago.

Bats - Have owned Yellow Catalyst, Blue Catalyst, Rocketech, Techzilla. Now using team Stealth. Will probably use the TZ for high school season and hope that one day it actually breaks in.

Batting gloves - Tried many and they all work great, now if I could just figure out how to keep DD from losing them after 2 tournaments.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

Have to disagree with Lefty's dad regarding the Ringors for a pitcher. We just received the Diamond Gem pitchers toe shoes, even lighter than the Diamond Stars. The original Ringors were just like Lefty's Dad said, waay too heavy, the Diamond Stars and the Diamond Gem are a different product. The big plus for the Ringors is your kid will out grow them before she wears them out. We bought the Gem's with the steel cleats, because she is now in high school and they are encouraging her to go with the metal cleats now.

DD wears Tanel 360s with pitching toes. They are an excellent shoe and are very durable. For gloves, Nokona. We're breaking in a new one while there's plenty of life in the old one. Bats - Catalysts and Stealth.
Granny said sonny stick to your guns if you believe in something no matter what because it's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not.
