Not nearly as much as it cost when she/he starts running with a bad crowd ... steals a car, gets arrested learns how to smoke crack or huff pooh in Juvie ... gets out, steals a Family heirloom and pawns it for a rock ... gets arrested again ... gets out, gets or gets someone pregnant etc etc ...

I can't (so I don't) even think about it.

But roughly $1k a month during active parts of the year (team practicing and playing in friendlies/tournaments). That includes travel, hotel, food, lessons/training, equipment, etc. Maybe half that during the other months. So probably $10k-11k per year or thereabouts--and I'm sure I'm underestimating the soft costs (food, snacks, etc.). Basically enough to put her through private school.

I would say that figure is in the right ballpark because I recently broke our costs down and we were between $200 and $250 per week!

We just pay as we go. Something comes up, you pay for it. New hitting coach, pay for it. Team dinner, pay for it. New cleats, batting gloves, whatever, pay for it. Trip to anywhere, pay for it. Haven't ever even attempted to add it up, which I make impossible anyway because most stuff I just fork over cash. I guess we're on the easy come - easy go plan!
