Yes, under 3 is good...this would have met the requirements to tryout for past olympic teams.

The IOC decided that women’s fast pitch softball would be included in the 2000 Games at Sydney, and tryouts for this team began in 1998.
Female U.S. citizens were eligible, and once all applications were reviewed by the Women’s National Team Selection Committee,
potential team members were invited to participate in the Preliminary Olympic Trials held in September 1998.
Minimum requirements are outlined below.
Infielders / Outfielders
Players must meet these five requirements:
Bat speed of 50 mph minimum
Throwing speed of 55 mph minimum
Run from home to first base in 2.95 seconds maximum
Run from home to home in 12.50 second maximum
Do 30 push-ups
