What's the hot bat for 2008?

What's on your mind?

by Mr. Burns » Wed Jan 30, 2008 10:15 am

Each year I buy one high end bat for anyone on the team who want to use it. Last year I bought the silver Stealth(which is still going strong) the year before that a Rocketech. What's your nomination for what I should be buying this year in the 21 oz range?

Not sure what's going on in the rest of the country, but in Ohio they're talking about banning our beloved composite bats.

I guess they think they're too hot, and thus too dangerous, so I'm not buying anything till I hear for sure.

I think I heard they've already banned them in NY state and Pennsylvania, can anyone confirm?

There are rumors (?) of ASA banning composites, because although they pass the 1.20 test out of the wrapper, they get hotter after a breaking in period.

From what I've seen, RT's are still near the top, and I've read good things about Rip-it's new bat The Force. Maybe it's not quite as "hot", but it's supposed to have a good feel to it. I'm thinking about getting one or the other for my DD for her Birthday next month....

DD has always loved the Mayhem. Has the orange and white models.

Even with the bad back foot position, that ball went about 190'!
It's only a little skin, it'll grow back!

I second the Phenix. Don't know if its any better than the other top line bats, but my DD loves it and we are still breaking it in.

There are several versions of the Virus. The Combat LADY VIRUS is the one that is banned. The fastpitch virus is not banned.

I haven't used it, but I've heard it is a nice bat.
