Does this mean teams can just buy a berth to TC?

What's on your mind?

Coach

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

The following qualification procedure is in effect for SoCal fast pitch teams

1. Any 10U / 12U / 14U team that has signed up (PAID) for THREE (3) SoCal Triple Crown fast pitch events (Huntington Beach is NOT included) since January 1, 2008 will be awarded an At Large Berth to the 2008 TCS World Series in Park City, Utah. This berth is valid until March 1st, 2008. Payment must be received by March 1st, 2008. After March 1st, 2008, the berth is NO longer in effect.
2. After March 1st, 2008, teams must qualify through regular tournament play.

This does NOT effect teams that have previous qualified.

This has been going on forever. You can just send money and usually get in. I know of a team last year that went to 7 tournaments and never qualified and they were told that since they had been to so many, they could have an at large berth.

Oh, I didn't know that.
It kind of takes some of the prestige away from the teams that qualify on merit.

It's not a good tournament?
I guess I'd better educate myself, I thought it was the next best thing to ASA.
