Tulsa Elite’s Bailee Cartwrigt 2010 chooses Northwestern La

Tulsa Elite’s Bailee Cartwright commits to D1 Northwestern State University!!

The Tulsa Elite Gold is pleased to announce Bailee Cartwright, a Class of 2010 student from Moss HS (Ok.), has verbally committed to accept a softball scholarship to attend, NCAA Div 1, Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La.

Cartwright is the daughter of Tom & Tina Cartwright of Holdenville, OK. She carries a 4.20 GPA and is a Member of Girls State.

When asked about her decision Cartwright said, "I have always dreamed of playing Division One Softball, but never dreamed it was possible because of coming from such a small town. After joining the Tulsa Elite last fall, several colleges started communicating with me and I just kept working hard all year. I finally started going on several visits this summer and visited NSU on multiple occasions before making my final decision, but I pretty much knew the first time I visited and just really love the city, the university and the coaching staff. It is a perfect place for me and has everything I was looking for in a college."

In addition to being a star on the softball field, Cartwright is also one of the States Top Basketball players in the 2010 class and was recruited by several programs to play college Basketball, but ultimately chose to stick with Softball instead.

Elite Coach, Jeff Filali stated "We are very proud of Bailee’s accomplishments in the classroom and on the field. She comes from a great family and a very small town and I don’t think she really ever realized her full potential until this summer. We challenged her by putting her in the 9-hole and made her earn the leadoff spot, and then once she got her chance, she never looked back and kept the spot all summer leading the team in stolen bases, total bases and runs scored. She is an outstanding leadoff hitter and gets on consistently. She is our 3rd Southland Conference Commitment this year and will do very well for coach Pickett and the Lady Demons."
