Is Fever still around? I actually think at one time they had two teams. I hear one of their pitchers is now playing for Firecrackers in California!! They were a well coached team, so I would think they would be a top 10 in AZ.
They did have a '95 team in 12's last year, heard that the '96 team from 10u broke up due to some parents tearing up the team... too many divas I guess, but that's just the rumor. yes, one of their pitchers is on the firecrackers, she's a right-handed pitcher though, no idea where the lefty ended up...
There is no 12U Scottsdale Fever! Like many teams the girls all got along really well except for a couple of spoiled brats that would cry and complain to their parents if they didn't get to play where they wanted or bat where they wanted. Since we only had 11 girls on the team, and being a head coach and being around the game for some time I did not care what the parents thought or said because I was doing what was best for the TEAM, leaving only 7 returning players we decided to call it quits. The other main reason why the team no longer is together is the PARENTS! 3 sets of parents from Scottsdale see their kids through rose colored glasses and we all know how those parents are.
From the bitter and emotionally charged reply from Fever 96's ex head coach, is it any surprise that the parents chose to take their spoiled brats and rose colored glasses to another organization?
From Illinois to Arizona and now on to California...Your never ending quest to find a softball community that fits your standards is really nothing more than seeing the writing on the wall and getting out before your girls' reputations become as tarnished as yours.
You're gonna run out of land here pretty soon Coach; but I hear the softball in Alaska is wonderful this time of year!
Ouch and thats a lot of years of driving makes me tired just thinking of it. Not to mention might be cheaper to buy a plane now.Looking forward to seeing Fever back, best of luck.
