Appeal on a Check swing

On a check swing when every Tom, Dick and Harry are either yelling she swung (or didn't swing), what's the most appropriate way to have your catcher ask the umpire for help? I'd prefer our catcher quietly ask for the appeal.

I understand there are many different ways it actually happens, but what way should it be asked?
