I'll go ahead and tell one ejection story ....
18G
I had a moody catcher, not sure what her problem was but she was asking over and over "where that miss" and generally being a pretty miserable person to work behind. Holding the glove out on obvious balls, all the bad stuff.
So we kind of had our issues for a few innings, because I dont take a lot of bs, and finally her pitcher beaned a batter pretty good and she said "so where did that one miss blue? So I tell her "You know what girl, I'm about done with you." and she stood straight up, turned around and said "dont call me girl" So I dumped her immediately, with a heave-ho. Obviously, only I knew about what just happened, so you can imagine the reaction and I'm pretty well unhappy at this point and her coach comes up to me and starts his stuff and I said "does this end with me ejecting you?" and he said "probably" and so I dumped him right then and there and he didnt get to say too much and he went crying to the TD and UIC. So it was a big deal. Even my partner didnt know what the heck happened. And I explained it to my partner stating "She reminded me of my daughter, she just wouldnt shut up".
Of course now that partner, being the wonderful human being he is, dutifully helps spread the word around every tourney that he and I work (which is often) that I ejected my own daughter and umpires still bring it up and its always a joke. "dont go ejecting your daughter today etc"...and it lives forever, and I now I guess I've helped that.
The happy ending came a few months later when I was calling behind her again and she was nice as pie and I didnt bring it up at all... by-gones are by-gones, but I knew who she was. So later in the game she asked me "are the umpire that ejected me?" and I confirmed I was and she apologized a few times and it was clear she meant it and I appreciated that and I never had a problem with her after that. I know her name to this day and her team, and she's a good girl. She just had a bad day and no hard feelings! (for anyone on this board who may have been there)
There thats an ejection story for ya.
