Umpire Inattention

Rule question? Get it answered here.

by Skarp » Tue Mar 10, 2009 7:55 pm

lol...you guys crack me up. The OP didn't name anyone. Didn't even identify a location. He just brought up situations which may as well have been pure hypotheticals. But in Umpireland it's not even permissible to hypothetically criticize umpires.

Hell, he didn't even criticize anyone. He merely asked a question. Get over yourselves already.

Hey, I have to have fun too, right?

Make em earn some keep...

When Skarp sets up shop for the day right behind the backstop and starts the day off with "Hey Blue, you'd have a better perspective if you lean more to the right!", before a single pitch is thrown, well, you know you're in for way more than a typical day of heckling!
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

Hopefully he has some originality - lame cyclops and where your seeing eye dog cliche's or even worse, sniveling and sour grapes is so very boring.

Relax, no one jumped on the OP and his alleged incidents and alleged umpire.

For all we know, this is just sour grapes. I mean after all, there isnt a SINGLE experienced umpire who hasnt heard these same accusations when you watched the entire play. We were nice enough to even give him the benefit of the doubt and take his post at face value despite parental and coach proclivities at gross exaggeration.. what more do you want Mr. Johnny Cochran of Heybucket? An e-greet sympathy card for the OP?

but we dont know the whole story. Maybe hes new?

Sorry Wade he's been calling softball games for as long as we've had fastpitch in our area, at least 10-15 years.

If he were my umpire I would talk to him about getting back doored by the RF blooper.

Sorry again, it was a very hard hit ball just out of reach of the 2nd baseman and the right fielder was playing shallow, so no blooper in this case. Well, not the hit anyway. ;)

The base ump heard the action behind him, looked over his shoulder, saw the play was over at first, signaled safe, and never stopped walking. The plate ump called time, called him over, (don't know what he said to him), the plate ump then ruled out.

Was pretty funny, even being on the bad side of the resulting call. :D
