How do you quantify the credit for a double, triple and HR? At what piont does it become base on thrown ball. Does the credit stop after the ball is touched by the 1st defensive player?

Obvious: hit over a fence.
Obvious: no credit on Errors throwing or otherwise.

If the scorer believes the runner could have been thrown out had the fielder chosen to throw the ball to the fielder who could have made the tag/force, then the batter-runner is credited with reaching the previous bag.

Ex: Batter singles to LF and reaches 2B because F7 chooses to throw to home plate. Batter is only credited with a single and advances to 2B on the throw.
