Was just re-reading this discussion and noticed the above statement.
FWIW, the statement is not true.

ART. 2 . . . Batter-runner. The batter-runner is a player who has finished her
time at bat until she is put out or playing action ends.


This doesn't change the situation.... just clarifies the wrding.
It is still tru that once the BR has passed first base, she may then use the "doublewide" (I like that phrase)

Actually, it is absolutely true:

Rule 1 Batter-Runner. A player who has completed a turn at bat, but has not yet been put out or reached first base.

This doesn't change the situation.... just clarifies the wrding.
It is still tru that once the BR has passed first base, she may then use the "doublewide" (I like that phrase)

oops - I made the common mistake of quoting one rule set (NFHS) when earlier referenceswere for another (ASA)...
