Double Hit

Batter hits ball straight down into plate. Ball rockets up hits bat and shoots into the fence foul.

Umpires ruled foul ball. That seems like the easy call, was it correct?

As long as the batter was still in the box and did not intentionally hit the ball a second time it is just a foul ball.

Just to clarify, the ball was ruled foul NOT because it hit the fence in foul territory.
Any tme after being hit, the ball contacts the bat or batter a second time while the batter is still in the batter's box, the ball is dead and the ball is ruled foul......
