Compression arm sleeve - legal or not

Rule question? Get it answered here.

Are compression arm sleeves allowed for pitchers in ASA/NSA/USSSA/NFHS, etc?

Story is DD was diagnosed with mild thoracic outlet syndrome. She is a pitcher and her symptoms are generally mild with the result being swollen red fingers that tingle a little. This typically only happens in practice when there is less time between pitches.

Dr suggested if it bothers her that a compression arm sleeve could be beneficial. I am thinking if she uses one in practice she may get used to it and want to use it in games.

Should not be a problem, especially if it is white.

My DD wore one this spring for 2 weeks due to tennis elbow. No issues.

If a coach makes an issue of it, it would have to be removed. Rule is A: it mus be the same color as undershirt B: it must be attached I.e. A long sleeve shirt and not a separate sleeve.

Coaches complain about a lot of stuff that has no basis in fact or reality. They can complain all they want. The bottom line is that the final decision belongs to the umpire.

My DD has worn one since last November. The one she wears is black. No coach or umpire has ever mentioned anything about. :D

In all forms of softball that I work (NCAA/ASA/NFHS/ISF/Premier), there is only one rule that applies. If the UMPIRE believes it is distracting, it must be removed, replaced, or covered. The opposing coach will certainly render an opinion (one based on getting into the pitcher's head, in most cases), but has no decision making authority.
