injured pitcher substitution

Rule question? Get it answered here.

ASA rules. Pitcher throws 2 pitches to a batter, injures her shoulder, and has to be removed. Is there a specific section or POE in the book that addresses how many pitches/how much time the new pitcher gets for warm-up?

Thanks.

In the Effect for excess warm-ups it is noted that the penalty does not apply under certain circumstances including injury. It is not specific and completely up to the umpire. It is not specific as to whether this refers to an injury to another player or the pitcher, but it is a tool the umpire can use to provide a relief pitcher extra time to warm-up, if necessary.

You also have 10.3.C, which is also completely up to the umpire to address something not specifically addressed in the rules.

All that said, the answer to your question is no, there is nothing specific which addresses your situation.
