NCAA Rule set

Couple of odd situations today here in a game played. NCAA Rule set

1) R1 on second R2 on first. Ground ball hit to F4, R2 going to second runs into F4 after she has fielded the ball. F4 is moving forward still and not attempting a throw. Collision happens in base path. Umpires make R1 go back to 2nd after dead ball. Call R2 out. Is this correct?

2) R1 on first. Ground ball hit to F3 goes off her glove and hits R1 going to second. Umpires admit F4 had a play on the ball but say it doesn't matter because it went off F3 glove. All runners safe at first and second. Is this correct?

1) From your scenario, the call seems correct. R1 would be out for interference. The fact that the contact occurred in the base path/line is not relevant. If you have interference, all runners return to the base at the time of the interference.

2) On a DEFLECTED ball, the runner will not be called out unless that runner intentionally contacts the ball.

If F3 is playing up and has a play on the ball and misses it entirely and it hits R2 behind her isn't R2 protected there as well because the ball passed an infielder (other than the pitcher). Is that still only interference if there is intent, or is it interference if F4 has a play without the contact and not interference if F4 is nowhere near the play (i.e. happens very close to 1st baseline)

12.19.1.2 The base runner may not contact an untouched, fair batted ball
after it passes an infielder if another fielder has a chance to make a
play.
