How many innings complete a championship game?

Rule question? Get it answered here.

Good Morning, I have a question about how many innnings constitute a complete game in a championship. I was under the impression it was 5 complete innnings. In any situation can a game be called early?

I guess it may depend on the rules set.

In ASA it is seven innings unless there is a run rule effected or a forfeit for some reason.

If it is not physically possible, there are game ending procedures. The most often, and to what I believe you are referring, would be if the game completes 5 innings (4.5, if home team ahead). However, for Championship Play, they try to avoid this manner of ending the game.

If there is a time limit in effect, then time limit is a complete game. There is no absolute that championship games do not have time limits (although most often not).

Unless explicitly waived, the run rules are in effect, too; 15 after 3 (or 2-1/2 if home team leading), 12 after 4 (3-1/2), 8 after 5 (4-1/2).
