How many in 7 innings before you need to change the hurler ?

To expand:

1 free per inning per pitcher. If removing pitcher on 2nd trip, now have a free conference available for new pitcher, don't need to remove that one until 4th trip. Then a free one for third pitcher, and so on .....

Thanks ... DD's conference tourny this weekend a defensive coach was coming out every time the offensive team put a couple hits together ... But it was no more than once per inning and she never changed hurlers ... That explains it ... How about offensive conferences with the batter ? One per inning also unless defense is having a conference ?

Yes....one offensive conference per inning. They are not limited to just the batter.
One other NCAA nuance....If the catcher requests time to go speak with the pitcher, any runners may not leave the vicinity of their bases to go talk to their coaches. If it is a charged defensive conference, the runners may go to a coach.
