Blues - take a look at these posts and give me a hand here: Tell me whether my brat can use Mueller Rosin (white powder bag) in the circle or not, this last weekend a blue told her that the only thing she could use is the Gorilla Gold. One last thing - the blue from web post wrote in the last post that resin is okay, rosin is not, but doesnt he just mean pine tar rosin? Because Mueller is rosin not resin, but it's still a white powder. Thanks in advance & sorry it's so long a post.

Last summer the ISC, an allied member of the American Softball Association (ASA), outlawed pine tar for pitchers but granted approval for pitchers to use only Gorilla Gold or powdered rosin the mound.


“Pitchers were using pine tar for grip control, but because of the residue that remained on the ball, dirt stuck to it and made the ball too difficult for batters to see,” says Ken Hackmeister, the ISC’s Executive Director. “Gorilla Gold only affects the pitcher’s hand so residue doesn’t transfer to the ball.”

I did a little more research and I think (not for sure) that all they were trying to avoid is the pine tar that leaves a residue on the ball and picks up dirt which could effect the batters vision of the ball.

I read it that they can STILL USE RESIN!!!!!!! BLUES HELP US OUT!!!!!

Resin is legal, Rosin illegal, Gorilla Gold is the only approved drying agent.
