Ball is dropped by the pitcher. Do we have two cases of interference, two cases of obstruction, one and one, or the ever popular, had to be there.

Ball is popped up to 2B fifteen feet from second, in the base line. 2B is calling "ball-ball", R1 deviates from the baseline to avoid interfering with 2B and shortly thereafter, collides with SS who's making a kamikaze run across the diamond. Guess what? Interference on R1. Umpires decision was that SS could have had a play on the ball. ????? Probably could have had a play if they dove and if 2B wan'ts standing directly under the ball. Wording in the rule book speaks of "making an initial play on the ball". From an offensive standpoint it's tough to avoid multiple players rushing to the ball. Somewhere along the way, blue has to decide, it wasn't your play.
Ball was caught in the actual play and became a mute point I just had a problem with my runner being in the "wrong" when she did what she was supposed to do, avoiding 2B.
