Is there any rule against a slowpitch bat being used in fastpitch competition? I witnessed a girl hitting with one that could have taken someones head off this weekend?

I think this was answered in the other post.

It will still say ASA approved, but if it does not say ASA 2004 Approved, you can not use it in fastpitch.

There using their dads "shaved bat" that's why you're seeing slowpitch bats. Pretty soon my DD is going to want one because her teamates are hitting bombs. :o

As long as the bat meets the requirements of Rule 3 Section A, the bat may be used at any type of ball.
Bats are not certified as fast pitch or slow pitch.

"Slowpitch" bat is a manufacturer's designation and has nothing to do with whether a bat is approved or not.

BTW, many of the USA team swing "slowpitch" models especially during international play.
