Shelby Arroyo Please Read

Good morning to all, we received some sad news this weekend as one of our wonderful young ladies within our A’s organization was diagnosed with Leukemia. Shelby Arroyo currently plays for SCA’s Mercado Gomez, she is a very talented and respected young lady with a lot of passion for the game of softball. She is currently in the hospital and will start a rapid treatment of chemotherapy immediately, she will need to be there for 30 days with multiple treatments. She is a very tough girl and is up for the fight. If you could please all put her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.


Coming from Coach Gomez, she is such a motivated young lady, she told me yesterday before I left the hospital, "I want to play in Vegas", which is in December. This is a testament of how Shelby is such a inspiration with fight and wants to be on the field with her team.


Shelby loves the A’s organization, teams, players, coaches and thus will be supported by the A’s throughout this process. We love her dearly and wish for a quick recovery.
