Teams to watch come States.

Thats all well and good for the 12U. What about the 14U. A I remeber last year the favorite didn't even win states AA's (Naudin). They lost there first game. Anything can happen. I was trying to get a line on the top 93's & 94's. I hear the Corona is playing in AZ this month. Hurricanes won the Fall HOF, they might be going to OK. That leaves Victory, then who's after that???????????????????? I just threw some names out ther eailer. I can't wait to see how things go down. The girls have to get it done on the field.

At this point in time a list was sent to my team manager, the he sent to us the parents. Hit your manager up to see if he has one. My DD is in 14U so I can't help much more. I was hoping that they would post it on the So Cal ASA site like last year. They seem to be dragging there feet quite a bit at ASA.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Most of these teams are 94's, how will they match up against the 93's going to states. Will the have to domanint pitching or power at the plate to get them through?
Most of these teams have been beating up on each other. Are they goingg to be able to handle the 93 team with domanint pitching or a row of big hitters or that 1 year more experiance.

I would agree with Sftbll4ever on this with a disclaimer. I have seen quite a few very good 94 pitchers who are smart and capable of shutting down a good 93 team. I will say however that while "Many" not "Most" of the good 93 pitchers are playing 16U's this year there are still a good amount of us with very good 93 pitching.....

You are right. The pitching should be even but there are still some good 93 pitchers staying with there teams. I did however see the older girls 92's wear out the younger 93's at the plate last year at states. They were dominant in that area. A little stronger and faster then the younger teams. They matched up well against other 92's but they did rope the 93 teams.

During the fall they either finished up playing 12U, played 14u after the first of the year, the the 93's were off to HS. What older teams have these girls seen. I would say maybe 20% of them have seen some 93's and that's a stretch. Most of the 93's were playing up 16U during the fall and before HS and will be playing down in 14U for states. (Unless they moved up).
I'm not saying that the 94's can't hang but are they ready for to face a older and possibly stronger team.

I couldn't have said it better myself, well put!! 92's were so strong last year. My team is finally back from high school except for 4 girls still playing for Varsity, but JV and Freshman is OVER...We are excited to finally get back at it. For this being the first time my team has had to deal with the high school break I would like to announce.......YUCK


I have never missed travel ball so badly....I did get to spend a fair amount of time watching my 10U daughter play!

The question was teams to watch out for at States. Based off the registered teams you mentioned earlier and not forgetting the already qualified teams YES the 94's are just as good if not better.

Most of the 94 teams played 16u in the fall which to me was no more an extension of average playing 14u division. Indeed there were some exceptions, but 16's this year was very weak.

In review of teams listed for 14u States, some 93' teams maybe have a good pitcher here and there but lack the team behind them to compete with my top 10. I could be wrong but I believe I am real close. PS-this post only address registered teams.

My opinion may change if other teams register at a later date. i.e, Irvine Sting- 93 is a good team.
