Probably because there are 2 pools of 4

Actually, it's because they have 6 pools with only 3 teams in them. The 3 pools with 4 teams play within their pool.

The 3-team pools are matched up to play their 3 pool games against another 3-team pool. Those teams don't get to play the teams in their own pool, but at least every team in their pool will play the same 3 teams.

Based on Bracky's insight it appears POOL F is the toughest (4 top 30 teams), POOL H has the toughest games (play POOL G, which has 2 top 10 teams), and Firecrackers 97, American Pastime and Team Anderson 97 have the easiest route to a #1 Seed.

7 of Bracky's Top 10 teams play in this MDC. I predict 5 of Bracky's Top 10 teams will be in the top bracket (Anderson 97, Firecrackers 98, American Pastime, Batbusters Snow, CA Cruisers); 2 of the Top 10 teams in the bottom bracket (SD Aztecs, Firecrackers 97).

Last weeks "Beat the Heat" proved that a #1 seed does not guarantee success, so I look forward to great games all day Saturday and Sunday.
