A team needs THREE great pitchers to make a real run at State and Nationals

Teams may want three great pitcher for security but it's not reality. Can you name me some of the top teams in the recent past in 12s and 14s that had three GREAT pitchers? Face it when you get to the big games you ride your horse. May not be right but it is what happens

I didn't say you can't have three but to say you need three is not supported by prior results. With the mind set of many pitcher's parents at the younger ages it is not the norm to see teams with 3 #1s

Understood. But it doesn't look like PS 96 is trying to be within the "norm." All three pitchers are also excellent infielders and hitters; they are all going to play. If PS 96 can make all the "intangibles" work (i.e., parent concerns), then they have enhanced their ability to succeed at State and Nationals.

I was at a Powersurge friendly not too long ago and think one of the pitchers, not one of top 3 was on SD Legacy now. Actually I think a few of the old power suge players are now part of that organization.

From what I gather from reading these posts regarding PS- it looks like the rest of 12u will have to double up on batting practice for the rest of the season.

OR WILL THIS BRING DOWN THE TEAM ?HOW, WILL THE COACHING STAFF HANDLE THE MOMMY AND DADDY POLITICS. WHAT ABOUT THOSE GIRLS THAT WILL RIDE THE BENCH WHILE THE OTHERS ARE ON SECOND AND FIRST. WILL THE PARENTS BE HAPPY? PLAYING TIME?

I don't know Stan personally, but he seems to be a good coach looking from the outside in. What PS offers the CTS pitcher this year is nothing more than an opportunity to win at a higher level. I dont think CTS was able to do this. This kid if she continues to play and develop will only be a pitcher. PS has definitely gotten better, but were not good enough in the long run, thus acquiring this pitcher.

Chances are the CTS pitcher will last this season with PS and end up with a bigger organization that is a "feeder" program for certain schools. None of this could be offered through CTS.

What Spaz is saying is true. When you're at nationals you figure out who is on and you ride that horse for as long as you can. If you stay in the winner's bracket your limited in games anyhow and really only need a #1 and #2 (used very little).

PS has never been a "pitcher dominated team". They have about 3 good hitters and defense is good.
