We have beat a couple of the teams that you have ranked higher than us. We have been trying really hard to play those top teams when we attend friendlies. I look forward to us moving up in your rankings. posting.php?mode=reply&f=401&t=3659#

Don't worry about the number ranking! No one should really spend a lot time trying to figure out if #7 is better then #8 – really all a coach should care about is the team grade (i.e., once a team has proven it can beat all the teams in the higher grade - their grade will change). I know a number of the lower ranked teams have beaten some higher ranked teams...and they should (i.e., a B+ should be able to beat atleast one of the A teams). So keep trying to schedule other top teams at friendlies as you have a good team.

The great thing about the ranking is it promotes some of the lower ranked teams and gives them an opportunity to pick-up some key players. I see some very good hitters and defensive players on some really terrible teams in 12u, the ranking now gives the parents of these under “utilized studs” an opportunity to contact some of the better teams. Example: If my dd was a home run hitting machine with average defensive skills, this board indicates that CTS with great defense but little offensive might be a great combination. A home run hitting machine on CTS ……

I will let you guys know this, our goal is to compete against the top teams but right know we do not have the girls to do it.We are a very young team, but I have my mind set on some of these girls that aren't playing and are sitting out , another man's loss is another man's fortune. I might just start asking if they would like some playing time! I will get rid of these girls that are not with the program, go kick the soccer ball, if you will! It just bothers me . :ugeek: :ugeek: GOOD LUCK TO ALL. I have to rest, I have to work tonite!

I only play if he plays along, otherwise it could be a long day!!! lol

Thanks for the kudos, you guys are an aggressive team and I like that. You make the opposing team make decisions. Sometimes it's a prefect throw and tag, other times she's safe.

With a little research I finally got a list of participating teams and even a schedule, wow! The jury is still out on the PFX Tour.

Just for fun I would like to challenge the experts, take a look at the list of 12U teams and pick how they will finish. The most accurate will win the title of "The All Knowing Prognosticator ". So bring your "A" game.

SVG Heat 12u
Caught Stealing
American Pastime
Team Smith 96
Minors Gold 97
Revenge 97
Revenge 96
So Cal Enforcers
USA Athletics
Upland All Stars
Hemet Valley Dirt Divas
OC Batbusters (Marquez)
Team Madness
The Academy Black 96/97
Cal Storm
HB Breeze
Team Smith 97

Ok I'll take a shot at predicting some of the results. Using the top 17 data only - there are three teams that should have a chance at winning this tournament:

OC Batbusters (J.Marquez) ranked #6 – Top ranked team at the tournament so they should make the finals. This team carries a B+ grade, so they could lose to a B team (#8 Team Smith 96 or #16 Revenge) and this would not surprise me. Note lost in the finals in their last 12u tourney to #15 Surfcity Slammers and they were not competitive. Need to make the finals and play competitively in the final.

Team Smith 96 ranked #8 – Most people believe there is a big drop after the top 6 teams. Team Smith 96 could put this to rest by beating the #6 OC Batbusters. Finals or bust for this team.

Revenge 96 – This team has played a difficult schedule, as a no-name 12u team often playing up in 14u. They have played some of the top 5 12u teams very close, but have yet to score the upset. This would be a major victory for this team to win this tournament, however dropping out early to a non-ranked team would hurt the team confidence. Need to make the semi-finals or bust!

Non-rated teams with potential – no order.

HB Breeze – Interesting team, can maybe steal the tournament if they only have to play one of the top three teams.

American Pastime – Good for a surprise or two, don’t think they can put three solid games together to win it all.

OC Fierce – Ok so they are going back to rec! They are getting better at each friendly… at this tournament they should not be easy road kill.

Hemet Valley Dirt Divas – Not sure if this is the same Dirt Divas team, but if so they should be able to be competitive enough to advance past the 1st round.

If any team outside these 8 wins the tournment - I will put them in the next top 20 and this would prove that there is little gap between the top 6-17 teams and the rest of the inconsistent field of competitive teams.

PFX Tournament Results

1st - OC Batbusters (J.Marquez)
2nd - OC Fierce
3rd - Revenge 96

OC Fierce, was the surprise, I had them in my top 7 at the tourney - but 2nd is great for that group. OC BB had all the pressure to win - so good job ladies. Revenge 96 made the semi-finals so they performed about as expected. My only questions are:

What hapeen to Team Smith 96 - who did they lose to?
Does anyone know who the OC Fierce & OC BB beat in the semi finals?
