They beat American Pastime Velasquez in the finals.

Mercado Tidd won the Great Park side of the tournament.

Guess we will see who the better dark/2023 teams are now.

Mercado Athletics Hovermale
OC Batbusters Campbell
Explosion Alaan
Firecrackers Holcomb/Knight

Any others?
Mercado Athletics Tidd?
Ohana Tigers Limardo?

How good is that Breakers Labs Black team?

Breakers Labs/Black is a good team.

Had hoped to have been able to see some more 2023 teams the past few months but it's been all wet.

The top 10 2023 teams in no particular order would have to be.

Mercado Athletics Hovermale
OC Batbusters Campbell
Mercado Athletics Tidd
Explosion Denaio/Alaan
Firecrackers Brashear 2023
Firecrackers Holcomb/Knight
So Cal As Medina/Briggs
Corona Angels Edwards
Ohana Tigers Limardo
Corona Angels Ortega

But I have no idea how accurate that is. Are these 10 even among the top 10 2023 teams in So Cal? Wish this rain would go away so we could find out.
March Mayhem may have a few of these 10 in it if we can have a dry St Pats weekend

Amazing day of games. Most games were 6 or 7 innings which was great.

It was a friendly, so it’s difficult to tell who has the best 9. A lot of games that were 2-1, 3-2, 5-4, etc.

And yes....Mizuno Storm very strong!

TCS March Mayhem had a few of the top 05 /2023 teams going at it this weekend.
Only problem was they split the tournament in to 2 divisions with one side playing at OC Great Park and another at Steed Park.

At OC Great Park Mercado Hovermale won the title over Corona Angels Edwards. Firecrackers Brashear 2023 and Ohana Quarles/Sanchez were also in that division

In the Open division Firecrackers Brashear/Mata won the title over So Cal As Medina/Briggs. Explosion Denaio/Alaan, AZ Storm, Ohana Limardo.... were also in that division. Open was a larger division with over 30 teams in it and Gold, Silver and Bronze brackets.

Corona Angels Ortega wins the tournament beating Mercado Athletics Hovermale in the championship.
So Cal Athletics Medina/Briggs and Mercado Athletics Tidd were the other teams in the semi-finals.

A lot of strong teams in this tournament

Firecrackers Holcomb/Knight lost 2 games (Firecrackers Brashear 2023 in pool play and So Cal As Medina/Briggs in the gold bracket quarterfinals.
Mercado Tidd's only loss was in the Gold semis to Mercado Hovermale
Mercado Hovermale lost in the championship and in pool play to Cal Cruisers Caouette.
Cal Cruisers Caouette' s only loss was the So Cal As Medina Briggs
Ohana Tigers Limardo lost twice losing in pool play to Breakers Labs Blue and then in the bracket to Mercado As Hovermale
Breakers Labs Blue also lost their bracket game to So Cal As Medina/Briggs
Firecrackers Brashear 2023 won their pool 3-0-0 but lost their first bracket game to LTG Henderson/Lively
Corona Angels Ortega lost a pool play game to Choppers Faucett
Corona Angels Jordan/Edwards lost the silver bracket (19th-20) places game to Corona Angels Kam23, in pool play Corona Angels Jordan Edwards lost to Batbusters Welbaum and Firecrackers Holcomb/Knight/Lopez

Was a good weekend of softball. Some of these teams looked great, some looked like they were a bit rusty and some looked like they need some depth. It was 4 or 5 games to reach the finals on Sunday and riding one or even 2 pitchers all day wasn't going to cut it.
There is a pretty big difference between the top 15 teams or so that were in the gold bracket and the 30 or so teams in the silver and bronze brackets.

Sure was good to have the sun back out in So Cal
