Mercado Athletics Hovermale beat Corona Angels Tyson 10-0 on October 6

American Pastime Velasquez beat Mercado Athletics Hovermale 10-0 on Sept 30

You have the wrong Corona Angels team listed. That was Feltons team who played Hovermale, not Tyson's, they weren't in that tournament.

Ok, was going off of Hovermale' s GC. Guess they had Ollison listed as Tyson

In California, all things being equal, playing best 9, all players healthy, etc...Athletics-Mercado/Greg is in a class by themselves. Also one of the most heavily recruited teams in the country--even after the new recruiting rules were implemented.

I wouldn't say any of these teams were in a class of their own. Borizelli's team is very good but so is Tyson's, Brashear/ Smith's, AP Velasquez's .... it's not even Thanksgiving yet, teams will shuffle a lot of players over the holidays and who knows what will happens when these teams break for HS ball.

This is why ranking teams early is so fun. Not to pick on swampcat, however that's typical to hear a statement about one team that could clearly be said about 10
others in the same region.

I would like to ask about the heavily recruited part? Cuz if the tb coach is telling you that a D1 college coach is already interested in your players then their integrity is definitely under suspect & putting themselves in a risky situation. D2 or lower colleges aren't interested until they see test scores.

Crank...

If you see Flo and Extra Innings lists of 2022's BEFORE the new rules were implemented, you'd see that team has three SEC commits--including a top 10 on both lists for one of Mercado/Greg's kids. Also, the amount of schools who attend games and workouts--even when it's raining, etc...it doesn't have to be about conversations or integrity--it's obvious to anyone who knows TB that some teams are heavily recruited and some aren't. That team is, plain and simple.

According to NCAA new rules D-1 & D-2 College coaches are not allowed to talk to players parents or even Travel ball coaches about specific players until their Junior year of High School. I highly doubt that any of them would put their program in jeopardy by violating a rule that they voted for.

Keep in mind a major driving force in this rule change was due to the fact that early recruiting did not pan out, which resulted in record amounts of drops and transfers in both Softball and Volleyball, other sports as well.

So they may come by and say hi to the coach but I highly doubt any of these teams are being highly recruited. I am sure that they do have interest but they most likely will just watch and keep an eye on them.

My 2 cents for what it is worth.
