QOD; Toughest part of SoCal, who has the best and most teams

by eddiez577 » Tue Oct 30, 2018 8:04 am

Question of The Day

So Cal is huge. So Cal goes from Bakersfield to San Diego, and Santa Barbara to Baker/ Indio.

Which "Region" has the most teams, the toughest teams, and the most toughest teams?
Is it Ventura County (Santa Barbara/ Goleta to Simi Valley/ Thousand Oaks)
Is it San Fernando & Santa Clarita Valleys
Is it High Desert (Palmdale/ Lancaster to Victorville)
Is it Bakersfield area
Is it Los Angeles Metro
Is it San Gabriel Valley
Is it the IE
Is it the Palm Springs corridor
Is it the OC :o
Is it San Diego County

Most teams per capita: LA Metro. There are many teams descending from the 323/ 310. Friendlies from this area always have different teams each week, all with varying levels of skill.

The toughest teams: SD County. Those folks take their softball seriously. Lots of upper-middle class money runs through those dugouts. Plus IDK if its in the weather or the water  but there's something particular about living near the Oxygen rich ocean and always overcast sky that makes those players larger than life :o

Most toughest teams: OC. It's always competitive. The players. The coaches. The parents. Even the snack bars are competitive  It's LA Metro and San Diego combined. And since they always play each other, all OC teams take on a symbiotic relationship where even the lowest rung teams hold their own against blue chip teams from different So Cal Regions.

Giving credit where credit is due ;)

I'm going to say the Inland Empire. Mercado's team's have been in the top 5 in the country
and he's located in Riverside county

Tyson just won IDT & PGF and he's also located in Riverside County. There's a lot of great teams
that have been ranked on Flosoftball. in the Inland Empire. But of course I'm bias :)

Is it the location or who they recruit? Tyson had an awesome pitcher from San Diego (off to UCLA this year) and I am sure he gets interest from all the top players all over SoCal. Maybe his location draws players from all over SoCal since it is so central.
