Hard to tell from Vegas Showcase considering most of the top 16u teams were playing up in 18u at West Flamingo.

Small sample of the Top 16u teams (in no particular order). I am sure plenty more to add:

Arizona Storm Mathis
EC Bullets 2020
Firecrackers Brashear
OC Tigers Lestrapse
Athletics Mercado/Greg
OC Batbusters Stith
Ohana Tigers Quarles
Corona Angels Slye
Firecrackers TJ

Some other teams that are also dangerous:
OC Batbusters Lara/Portesi
Firecrackers Brashear/Hicks
Suncats Jimenez
West Bay Warriors

This list is of course limited to western region teams and there are many more solid clubs out there.

In no particular order probably something like:

OC Batbusters Stith
Firecrackers TJ
EC Bullets 2020
Firecrackers Brashear
Corona Angels
SoCal Choppers*
Athletics Mercado/Greg

Those 7 are pretty solid. Hard to pick after those. I put the * next to Choppers because I can’t remember if that’s a 2020, 2021 or a 2022 team. Very good squad tho.

After those 7 you can make a
Monster argument for a lot of teams. OCBB Lara/Portesi, FC Brashear/Hicks, Breakers, Tigers Lestrapes, SoCal Athletics, West Bay Warriors, Suncats, Etc. Lots of them in that mix and probably others too that I have forgotten about. LoL

Definitely in So Cal 16u is the toughest to rank. At this age, many players and teams have mastered playing softball and no longer in the "development" stage. Fundamentals still need to be worked on, but not developed like in 10/ 12/14u. In 18u many of the less successful teams have been weeded out, and tourneys feature teams playing up, so not true 18u divisions.
Interested to see what the HB Community ranks ;)

You mentioned in other discussion forum managing a 16u team. Is your team on this list?

Looks like it is FC Brashear Hicks. I am not affiliated with any of these teams, but it seems the one he represents is a pretty tough team having played most of the ones he listed as the top teams and competed well.

Also hint for finding out......just search his posts next time. ;)

Sooooooo many good 16u’s in SoCal. Anyone can be beat on any given day for sure.

Love these posts tho! Fun to discuss!

These are always fun and sometimes hilarious posts. Haven't seen a 16U ranking one that I can remember. DD is in 18U now but enjoyed 16U years with great competition throughout the country. Colorado and PGF are great tourney's for 16U especially with the NCAA change in recruiting rules. In the day, these type of posts were done at the younger age divisions and were so full of parental myopia! Miss those days and posts! You loved it if your DD's team was a consensus competitive team, and for those of us from So Cal, pissed if the only teams mentioned were Firecrackers, Batbusters, So Cal Athletics or Corona Angels and your DD didn't play for them. Fun times.

Glad to see intelligent conversation at the 16U level and enjoy the rest of the ride because they will be playing in college soon...
