DING and they're off

by crankshaft » Sat Dec 08, 2018 9:12 am

There goes "thisteamsucks" breaking up around the corner.
Here comes "daddyball" from the backside.
Dont look now "moreofthesame"
making a push. Its getting rough around the next bend.
"wefakeit" taking lead. " "thisteamsucks" on the tail.
Its a dream moment. "Allstarsselect" rounding the corner with "teamgoldmeansnothing".
Its a strong finish
"moreofthesame"out strides
"thisteamsucks" "Allstarselect"cant take the pressure. "Daddyball" falls back with "wefakeit" & "Allstarselect" trotting in the backfield with "teamgoldmeansnothing"

What's up with the horse race this time of season with teams? Why does half of everything fall apart?

The line up for the second
race today are
"callmecoach"
"thinkhecandoit",
"playedinhighschool" "mydaughterplayed"
"Playingtime4myDD"

It is kind of a gripe. Just trying to put some light on it here. Those who are intending to start a team seem to take on a big decision without thinking it through. Teams falling apart at 5 or 6 months what a shame!

Really the worst shame is seeing that people don't want to put in the work behind making something better.
Start bouncing around looking for a quick fix, or coaches looking for that star one player that's going to make it a winning team.

It takes a team
to make a team!

Maybe we can set up a swap meet forum on here. Have a bag full of Firecracker gear but your DD is headed to a Mercado team. Have a box of Batbusters schwaaaaag but now you need an Explosion kit?

Every season it seems my kid starts on one team and then after Christmas moves to a better team.
Just seems like it's the way it is. Don't know where to start off, try somewhere that says all the right things and then after the team doesn't improve enough or doesn't seem to be headed in the right direction, it's time to move on. Then you get to PGF and the roster doubles in size and playtime gets trimmed back so you bounce and go tryout elsewhere and the wheels on the bus go round and round.

Schwag Sale! Like it!

Heard a story of a parent who brought all their old team gear, helmet, bag, jackets, uniforms, extra dry fits and sold them at a couple of friendlies. Why not get some of your money back. Helps you and the other family!

Yeah I know there's someone out there right now saying "no they tell you when you sign up you have to give everything back." Hey unless you signed some funky 'uniform contract' and they're actually going to take you to small claims court you paid for it,
the gear is yours!
