not enough 12u teams??

by scorkep » Mon Sep 01, 2008 10:11 pm

Last count 58 12u teams in So CA. Do we not have enough teams, that every dad or mom does not have to go and start a new team?
Played in friendly this past weekend and 2 of the 3 teams didn't really have enough players . One we had to lend them one!
So with Fall changes and all any new ideas on top teams for 12's?? I know it's early, but its fun to hear everyone ideas?

8-) Actually we have 64 teams now in 12's! I started a master list so we can all keep in communication for games etc. It is up to date as of this morning. I am sure there are a few more out there. I am sure there are a few teams also that will drop off in Jan.

Wow!
Curious if you could post the list?
And even more curious how you put it together?? Especially this early.
And if anyone has endeavored to do the same in the other age groups?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

This is from the same lady who did this last year for 10U, it was a awesome tool to have. We used it for our first year 10U team it was a big help. Sounded like they all ready have this for the teams who moved up, we are still in 10's and will hopefully get this again.

Well, let me answer as to what expectations might be: Corona Angels 96, Rebels, Firecrackers, OC Batbusters 96, Jynx and PowerSurge 96 I think are expected to be the best older teams (not in any particular order). However, as you said with Fall changes, top '97 teams picking up 96 players and great ballplayers in the making just out of all stars, it is way too early to pick them. New Batbuster team that was Team Smith will be well coached, Nemesis, Irvine Sting and OC Wildcats might regroup and come out strong for Spring. Who really knows at this point?

It is time consuming, but very helpful! I will keep it up in our age group, 12's, and as we move up.

I did see the list going around for 10's again, so hopefully someone will keep it up for you!

By the way its 68 teams now!! CRAZY!!

There are definitely more than this - American Athletics (I think will have a 96 based team), SD Elite, CTS, Softball Soldiers (remember them!), OC Wildcats have added a younger 12 U team, HB Force, Artesia Punishers, So Cal Filly's, So Cal Aztecs and Nemesis will most likely have 2 teams. This is just a start.

Trina, Oh sorry I mean "bucndranch", you rock for putting that list together for this year as well as last year. I'll keep sending updates as I get them.
I almost forgot, please remove us from the 10U list. After all the emails yesterday I thought that's how all messages to you were suppose to end.
