4/18 weekend:
Space Coast Rock-it, Aftershock 96, Jax Fusion, Jax Players and Gainesville Gold will play in NSA Ormond Beach this weekend.

The Plant City Raiders are playing in the 14u division at the NTC Softball Complex tourney. So are the Tampa Bay Odyssey and the FL Havoc, but I'm not sure which teams ('95 or '96) are playing for their respective organizations.

Osceola Overdrive 96, Orlando Flames 96, and Windermere Wildfire '96 are fighting it out for the West Orange Girls Club Spring Travel League 14u championship in Ocoee.

South Florida??? Where are the top teams playing this weekend? Looks like the Diamond Dusters '96 and the Wellington Wild - Blue are playing in the 14u division at a Pembrook USSSA one-day and the Miami Stingrays 12uA and the South Florida Crush are playing in the same Pembrook USSSA one day in the 12u division. I may not be reading the USSSA site correctly, please let me know of any errors.

Note: Very difficult poll to figure out, 3 different organizational State Champions this spring means on any given day, as of today, the top 3 can beat each other. Complete Swamp Classic results would help with the South Florida teams, but are not readily available.

Space Coast beat the #2 and #3 teams in the polls by substantial margins this past weekend. They stayed in the winner's bracket and it paid off. Space Coast was possibly ranked too low at #13 prior to this last weekend.

In a previous state tournament in mid-June, Space Coast lost to the PC Raiders 8-0 in the ASA States loser's bracket. PC Raiders lost to the Diamond Dusters in ASA States Championship game 12-3. Yet Space Coast beat the Diamond Dusters 7-0 in NSA States. That is a big turnaround and beating #2 and #3, helps them make that big of a jump.

In the coming weeks: The Diamond Dusters and Seminole Warriors will play in the USSSA States this weekend in Vero Beach. The Diamond Dusters and Space Coast Rock-it are going to the NSA World Series in Chattanooga. Maybe that will help sort it out some.
