I usually don't post on here and just read through some of this stuff for entertainment purposes only. As my then 15 yr old DD told me a few years ago "I don't understand why adults spend so much time and energy worrying about what 14 and 15 year old girls are doing any way." But some of you guys apparently haven't been paying close enough attention. Maybe I'm wrong but have you seen an (softball) organization grow as quickly or as successfully as the Indiana Gators? Have you seen a Coach be able take a new team of 12'13'and 14 yr old mostly B players 5 yrs ago, and in two years. get them to not just playing on Sunday but winning tournaments in ASA A tourneys? Can you tell me of many coaches that could take these same girls who probably never even thought they might get a shot at playing at the next level to practically all or most of them getting serious looks from college coaches by the summer of their jr year? And let's see, by this time next year I think something like 8 or 10 WILL be going to college, continuing their education, and on scholarship to play SOFTBALL. But yet some people want to get on here and pretend that they can do a better job. Most of you have no idea what these girls have been through but I won't even get in to that. I can tell you this, and I've been around this (man)TEAM for 5 years, and I only wish I had another child, girl or boy that could spend the time that my daughter has spent with Mark Lloyd and his family(including those 2 a.m. games at the "Gator Zone")and learn what she has learned. And not just about softball. I know you won't find anyone that cares more about a kids' well being as a player or person than he. So you can have our sweatshirts. But you are missing the bigger prize.

How about the Shockwaves 93, Dreams, Chix(till lately!)There are only 6 or 7 organizations(if your talking multiple teams) in this state that have been around since this game blew up in the early 2000s! Gators a year or two later, mark has done a good job and i don't think there was anyone bad mouthing him, except maybe wiz, who i don't think understands the whole issue! Your know your team is no good until you start getting bad mouthed for winter "tournaments"!

Looking in, I guess that's my point. Why would someone say things like that or ask those kinds of rhetorical questions when they obviously have absolutely no idea what this is about. You can't spend 45 minutes watching a softball game or anything else for that matter and question someones intent or intelligence(that has been doing this fairly successfully for years) with out looking like a complete idiot. Like Confucious once said "Leave your mouth shut and let people wonder if you are a fool, instead of opening it and removing all doubt". I guess maybe that's the beauty of anonymous user names. Btw if anyone doesn't know who I am...4's Dad. Jeff

Close, but you do win a nice cigar for trying if we should ever meet. Jeff Dillon. 4 is my dd. Not Bret Favre on the Packers...I mean the Vikings. Did I just say that??

Can't believe my kid caused all this ruckus, but so be it. Yes, she's been subbing with the 14's in the Zone, SHE'S 14! I've always felt the more reps against live hitting the better. She's playing 18's this weekend...more reps! She's improved alot since she started playing for Mark because he's teaching her to think like a pitcher, not just a thrower. She also tends to listen to him better than me! SHOCKER! She loves to pitch, and Mark is giving her an opportunity to pitch alot this winter, what's wrong with that?

jckdd,

Don't know you, or your daughter. But I like the way you think; getting your dd reps and entrusting a coach who teaches the game is solid recipe for success. Good luck.

$64,000 question:

Did the Gators add a sweatshirt to the collection just in time for the winter storm or not?
Every man lives by a code:
1.Always look cool
2.Never get lost
3.If you get lost, look cool
