I know some team might not make it or certain teams aren't playing ASA or some kids start school 1st week of August.

Unless they have changed the rules, as long as the player is ASA registered, they can be added to your Nationals roster after the state tourney. They do not have to have played with your team previously.

agreed^^^^

This is maybe my biggest complaint with roster rules! Rosters should lock at the State tournament, IMO. At 10U NSA A last year the top 3 teams were all combinations of 2 or 3 travel teams put together just for Nats. Just doesn't seem right to me, but don't think it will be changing anytime soon. I have no problem with teams needing to pick up a player or two in tournaments through the year. However, just adding or changing your roster for Nats just seems wrong to me. Maybe i'm way off here, but just my opinion.

Thoughts??????

I agree with you on combining 3 top teams and go play nationals. Im against that.

As for 1-2 players pickup due to injury or parents can't afford it or they have school or done with their current team for the season. I don't have a problem with that.

My daughter is 10 and been playing 12u this year. I like for her to play in the 10u ASA nationals if a team need an extra player.

Sling,

Understand what you are saying, but all of those reasons are why teams have 11-12 players and set schedules
at the begining of the year, or should do those things. IMO rosters should lock at State. When shool schedules were released and some of our girls found out they would start the week of Nats we took a team vote and if any player was going to miss we would have to make other plans. Why would you attend a National where some of your girls cant attend? All are part of the team and all pay fees to play on that team. Again just my opinion and Ii understand you are not talking about your team.
