That's terrible! Way too young to have to deal with that.

Hey Mick how can you say that the Blast96 are not on the same level as the Thunder?

The only thing with the Indiana Thunder is that they have proven themselves time and time again in the summer and at nationals. What they did last year at the NSA 12U Nationals as an 11 year old team was flat fantastic!!
Now after watching the Thunder play all last year, do I think they are the team to beat? Yes! Because they have proven themselves over and over. Do I believe the Blast will beat them? Absolutely!!
I think the Blast is a better team top to bottom, but the Indiana Thunder must be respected enough to give them the "#1" until they are beat.

Previous record. 2007 USA/ASA National Champion, 2008 NSA top 6 as a 96 team and 2008 ASA Northern Nationals Champion gets them the right to be considered the top 12U team in some meaningless preseason conversation.

"The next level" was probably a poor choice of words. How about "the top teams playing fall and winter ball that we have seen".

BTW, you should be a proud Blast 96 parent. Great kids on that team!

Indy Blast 96 is a great group of athletes.Seen them play this winter in the Zone Good athletes and a smart coach.Class act group of parents.Thunder will be a big bite but you never know. The Cinci Doom 96 and the OH Stingrays are very underrated this year but beware they can all bite.I'd say the Thunders are the stronger tm over all. They have been down the road before but on any Sunday it's always about who wants it the most.

Top four from the Dome tourney (per NSA website):

Indiana Thunder 4-0
Indy Blast 4-1
Red Chix 3-2
Indy Xcel 3-1

I guess until someone knocks them off, the Thunder hold onto the #1 spot.

My DD and I didn't make it to the tourney so all I know is that our team didn't fare very well.

Can anyone comment on how the top four did against each other? Close games? Any commanding individual performances?

From what I heard the Thunder beat the Blast 4-1 and put them down into the other bracket. The Xcel beat the Red Chix and faced the Thunder in the championship game. The Thunder beat the Xcel 8-0 in the final on the top bracket and the Blast started hitting and won the bottom bracket.

I heard that the lefty from Thunder tore her ACL about a week ago. That is awful and sad for such a talented young lady. They will be in Tennessee this weekend...
