Who are the top 12U teams in IN for 2012-2013?

by softball_rules5 » Thu May 16, 2013 6:58 am

I truly love how you guys have all these 12u teams figured out (I remember when the world revolved around 10's/12's). Get back to me when you hit 14's/16's and let me know how many are even still playing.

To say that it is even worth the drive for Gators '00 to go to Btown is their own fault. They have known for months who was in that tournament and if they felt the competition wasn't up to par they should have looked else where earlier. Call me old school, but any time you can take the field and play its "worth the drive". I'm sure they will get plenty of work in for the weekend.

Bomb Squad (New Burgh): They are playing in the USFA State tournament. I guess everyone can see what they have next month. But I agree, whey aren't they playing in Jasper?

Gators '00 dropping from B'town? With only 5 teams in the tournament, it just doesn't seem worth the drive. But it wouldn't have anything to do with Gators '01 being there. That would be the only good game of the weekend (Gators '00 / Gators '01).

The problem with ranking 12u teams: There seems to be only one team that stands out. And the rest aren't really even close. I suppose the Gators '00 team could be "2nd" if you look at tournament wins. But you have to look at who they have played. I think the teams up north could give them a good game. And, given the right circumstances, there are a few down here that can do the same.

Defining average: Yes, that word can be used to describe a multitude of situations. In this instance, it was intended to mean "a group of teams that can play consistently with each other, yet when placed against an elite team would most likely not prevail".

I would agree that Elite maynot be the right word in the national perspective. Indy Crush 2000 are clearly above the other 4 I ranked. I think we are making the same points just using different terminology.

Dont know much about Bomb Squad persinally and maybe they should go to Jasper ASA/USA is not so absolutely neccesary at 12u as some would have you believe on here

Let me see if I have this straight; because your DD is in 14s/16s, we should all be drooling over on those threads? No thanks. I'll stay here in the 12s thread where we talk about teams that still play the game they love. And not so their parents can talk Old School crap on Heybucket. Besides, I think there is one 12u team that has put several of your "almighty" teams in the "L" column. Maybe that is why that thread has gone silent so abruptly

Well said GoldElite, how many 14U games has the Indy Crush 2000 played? Just guessing here on W-L-T = 18-6-1? Very impressive!

Precisely as I would predict you guys to react. "Those old farts don't know nuthin"". You act like this is our first rodeo. I agree there are some pretty good 12u teams out there, some that may even beat a few 14's. However, call me when the highschoolers return and the big dogs play with their full teams. Then tell me how many times Indy Crush plays up. Let me know how they do against Magic Gold and Dreams and then we'll talk. Name one of the big teams Crush has beaten. And don't accuse us old farts of not loving the game. When you have to travel as much as these teams do to the exposure stuff there better be a real love for the game.

Softball_rules5,

You assume this all our first rodeo, not a good assumption. 10's and 12's is where the fire is ignited. 14's, 16's and 18's is where we hope it isnt extinguished. While your looking down, you might want to glance up, else you get some bird shit on your head

You know what they say about assuming..I think you can figure it out. I never "assume" anything. Our kids were 12 once also. We started a few fires back then too, but those were usually at cookouts in the parking lot. However, when behavior such as "mine is bigger than yours" as is shown by a lot of 12u parents (not all, don't everybody gets your shorts in a bunch) and you argue about trivial things like who is the best 12u instead of enjoying the game and seeing a bigger picture I guess I have no choice but to call it as I see it. If you found offense in pointing out that the overwhelming majority of really good 14u teams are missing players and that Crush would have trouble competing, prove me wrong. Play up at PGF with the big dogs and show us all how good they are. Otherwise, sit back and spit some seeds and relax.

I'm sorry I didn't realize it was a private thread exclusively for 12u, especially when you make claims against 14s-my bad
