Prayer Request for an Indiana Softball Family

by Scooby26 » Fri May 06, 2011 1:24 pm

I just read an on-line article from the NWI Times about Indiana Rebel and Andrean High School softball player Katie Crandol. She recently had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her brain and soon will be facing a series of radiation treatments to eliminate the tumor.

While I am not well acquainted with Katie or her family, my daughter's teams have faced them several times over the years and I was always impressed with how well prepared her dad/coach (Ken) had the team and how hard Katie's team always played. I know that Katie will put everything that she has into this much more important fight as well.

When you hit your knees tonight please say a prayer for Katie, her family and her extended softball family.

As a father, I can never understand why it is that kids have to suffer like this! It just makes me so angry. Every kid should at least get the chance to be a kid...disease and cancer free. I'm praying for her to beat this and have faith that she will!

This stuff just isn't fair, but I hope she kicks the cancer's ass.

I hope all the kids and parents in the softball universe will come together and be strong for one of our own.

Agree. Ken and Katie have always set the bar high and good examples of putting their heart and soul into something. Our prayers are with you Katie and Ken !
