We were planning on going to Sparks too. Now we're going to Orland. Also playing 18U. Interesting that the exposure camp is Wednesday, but tournament play doesn't start until Friday. Anyone planning on going to the exposure camp?

DD is going on Wednesday. Seems like mostly NAIA/Div. III schools. Your Pool LL - IN Twisters? We're Pool MM - Synergy.

Coolstuff - Did you win the championship? Played Who and What was the Score?

Synergy had a great game against you guys taking third place. Your defense really came through in that game. My dd was the DH and had a nice hit to left center which I thought would drop but your CF made a great play. Thought we hit a gapper to right and your 2B made the back hand grab going backwards and robbed her. Thought we had the tie-break when we came back in 7th but your two perfectly laid bunts put it to rest.

What I thought was really great was that just like our coaches, we didn't even know what your coachs' voices sounded like! Girls just played it on their own with no screaming and yelling (we had quite a few 3B coaches driving us crazy all weekend).

We beat the Waves 6-2. The Twisters played their hearts out that weekend, and every team we played that day, including yours, played just as hard. Every game was a challenge. Despite a few tournament organization issues, I thought it was a great tournament with a lot of great teams.

I hate to tell you this, but the CF that made that incredible catch was my DD!!! She's also the lefty lead off batter who laid down one of those bunts, and eventually scored the go ahead run.

Our coaches are definitely not like that (although the parents might be!). I have great respect for them and I hope we can play for them again next season. Can't remember the team but there is one 3rd base coach I remember, and you could tell who his daughter was because he was hard on her all the time.

Great game from the Synergy! Are you going to the Northern or the USA Nationals? We're headed to Bloomington IN for the Northern Nationals.

Supposed to go to Bloomington but our team is pretty banged up. Two hand injuries suffered in Colorado, our 3B was injured game before ours, my dd goes for an MRI on her shoulder next week (fingers crossed nothing serious) and our #2 pitcher has been out for 2 weeks as well. It went to a vote w/girls and majority ruled not to go. DD was disappointed as the team is also disbanding and that was our last tourney. Keep us informed how you do in Nationals. We'll be looking for new team and drop down to 16U next season.

Sorry to hear that. Our season has been similar but not quite as dramatic. It seems that every weekend, one or two players were missing for various reasons. Even last weekend we were missing two, and another player missed Saturday's games for college registration. But I think this team is peaking at the right time, and the Northern Nationals could be a lot of fun. I'll be posting here for sure.
