She's not returning next year because of this "coach"...This "coach" mentally drained this VERY TALENTED team and held them back from playing ball like they know how to. Can we gets more info.

What Disstrict?
What School?
What Coach?

any of the above?

What Playanomore meant was......

1. The HS coach didnt start his/her freshamn DD at SS. - Translated "Very Talented"

2. The HS coach didnt bat his/her freshman DD in the 4 hole. - Translated "held them back from playing ball like they know how to"

;)

WOW!! Mr. Creature!!! You should quit your full time job and join your nearest circus and start guessing people's weight and birthday's! You are GOOD!!! You hit the nail right on the head!
Not only can my DD hit in the 4 spot, and is a FRESHMAN (yeah right!)...she can pitch and catch to herself and play outfield once OR IF the ball is hit!!! OR just handout on the bleachers with the other creatures....

Ok, so I'm guessing Sophomore then. Come on playa, you have to expect some comments like this if your gonna come on here and blame your HS coach for the teams poor showing this season. DD's HS team sucked this season just like last but not for anything the coach is doing, the team just sucks.

That's the problem!! You're guessing!! Just like I'm guessing your DD is gonna play D1, a stud pitcher!

IMO

If a kid quits a sport just because of the percieved actions of one coach then she (or he) does not have the mental toughness necessary to succeed.

Maybe she is good at chess?

It seems that some of you are making HUGE generalizations!! There are several programs in the metroplex area that are expected to win year in and year out. The coaches of these programs ARE under scrutiny to perform well. MANY of the area 5A teams roster are comprised of only slecet team players - those that aren't select simply usually don't have a chance to play varsity and live on the JV team.

One thing you have to give some of these high school coaches credit for is being able to (or trying to) get their players from 9 different select teams to mesh - which is really hard considering the primadonna personalities many of these players have. Like someone commented on in an earlier post, these players have already learned how to play softball. The role of the high school coach IS to win.

I'm not going to name names but there are many excellent high school coaches and most of them do not buy into the booster pressure.

BTW... anyone that thinks select teams are not influenced by parents with money have some major rosecolored glasses on!!

What else would we post if we stayed away from huge generalizations?

Point taken!! What was I thinking - thanks for setting me straight! Just thought my prior post might add a little fuel to the fire since everyone seemed to be on the same page... so I turned it.
