Umpired injured in the mesquite game saturday, any info?

In one of our pools an umpire was hurt taking a foul off the side of his head he was taken to the hospital by ambulance , I never caught his name. Does anyone know how he's doing? Chris

I was not in Mesquite but I heard from a friend that he was discharged from the hospital Saturday afternoon and was resting at home.

At another tourney the same weekend I saw an umpire wearing a mask that covered his entire head, almost like a motorcycle helmet.

Thanks! He is doing good. He was able to watch his granddaughter in NRH on Sunday, but stayed kicked back in his chair. He scared us too.

Awesome, that was just an unlucky foul tip, pitch had tons of spin, fouled off, glanced off the catcher's helmet and right up into the side of his head. He kinda looked away at the wrong time and then I imagine doesn't remember anything for the next 20 minutes. Really glad to hear he is well. Those of us on the field felt pretty helpless waiting on that ambulance, once the nurse got there I just got out of the way but the NT Eagles coach was keeping him talking as best he could when he came to. Tell him the 97's wish him well and to get back out on the field asap so I can argue with him on his strike zone

Thx, I will let him know. It was bad enough being on the other end of the phone when my mom called me to let me know. I can't imagine being there.

He will be back on the dirt umpiring a high school game Friday night and he is on for the weekend as well.
