VTD had their chance and blew it; they have done next to nothing to grow the sport outside of the DFW area. The only hitch is if Dallas/Ft. Worth can get their website up to snuff (which judging by their first attempt is a big if).
The only thing VTD blew.... is a hole in your minimum wage wallet.
Since you appear to be a rookie in these parts, let me restate the obvious.... whether ASA, VTD, or any other three letter word, teams will play in the parks they enjoy, feel safe, and are in good condition. If and only when ASA can re-secure one or more of those, the good old days are gone. Gateway and Irving are two old "has beens" and the folks avoid them if they can...that is, unless GG hoards another qualifier in the midst of Fort Worth's govt. housing projects. Mansfield is still decent but then they're the only game in town on the southwest side of DFW. They would be well advised to start putting some of their coin back into the park or get their city council to cough up an ugrade. Arlington? Pffft...please. They're paying out the nose for Rangers and Cowboys and won't put up a few dollars for a decent park for the hundreds or thousands that play fast pitch out of Arlington? Tommy should round up the troops and head to a city council mtg or two.
Soooo....sorry to pop your ASA balloon... pea brain. You and your kind have been dismissing VTD since day one....and Ooops...unless you can wrestle away Mckinney, Keller, SL, NRH...VTD will continue to kick some ASA ass in the Plex. It's just the way it is....
