BatBusters - Shout out for Roni

by TexasYellowBall » Sat Oct 23, 2010 6:09 pm

Great Job by the Batbusters.

The tournament was going awesome, then the rain let us have it. They made the correct decision to cancel as fast as they did. Great job on letting the teams know asap, allowing us all to save on hotels.

Very proud of the Batbuster for not being in it for the money and trying to drag it out. It reflects the true integrity of the Batbusters organization. So sorry that it rained out such a great tournament, but we are already looking forward to next year.

Southlake Girls Softball Assoc does the heavy lifting for this charity event. Batbusters do some nice work too, but it is the local association who donates the proceeds to the Ovarion Cancer Association in the name of Roni Lemos. Overall, the Southlake group has a very good reputation for running quality tournaments.

It is too bad it was rained out. They work year round to make this tournament a success, however, the weather simply wouldn't cooperate this year. Last year their donation from this event exceeded $10000.00.

VTD was updated at 3:00pm...and if the arks were being built at noon, why not cancel and re-book if needed? Paying attention will result in better financial planning...then perhaps chasing softball $$$ wouldn't be required in the first place...

...just sayin'.

Hope you enjoyed your stay
