The Beginning of the End for VTD???

by J O E » Mon Jan 09, 2012 9:37 am

So the story goes...FWASA has finally retired one of the good old boys (name not mentioned).

:D GG..GG..GG..GG..GG..GG..GG :D

IMO...the one and only reason some of the better parks, TDs and teams left ASA and signed up with VTD...can be directly attributed to this person. Now that he's gone, will ASA choose someone who will bring all the associations together once again...under the same ASA umbrella?

Will the DFW softball family finally heal and become the powerhouse that it should be?

Will this be the end of VTD??? :(

DFW softball will not become the powerhouse it should be until the good teams stop ducking each other. It does not matter who sanctions the events.

The tournament system needs to change from the 20 -30 team money makers that include all levels to a true A / B system.

DFW should model how it is done in Houston. Play smaller friendlies against similarly talented teams. Everyone plays good competition and resists the urge to play up. Who cares about the trophy, play good competition. Meanwhile the teams are gaining ground on the national powerhouses that play at ASA Nats.
